Coats for Kids 2016
Ziker Cleaners Coats for Kids Community Outreach helps 100’s this Year!
For the past 30 years Ziker Cleaners Coats for Kids program has helped 10’s of thousands kids and adults in our community receive a warm winter coat. Through your generosity, this year was no exception. While the number of coats donated was down over previous years, all of the coats that were received and cleaned have or will be distributed to those in need by early January.
This year we were able to supply coats for several organizations holding events. The first event was sponsored by the South Bend Community School Corporation and it was held on December 2nd at Navarre School. At this event over 450 kids coats were given to those in need. The 2nd event was held on December 17th at the Central Fire Station in South Bend, this event entitled, Coats for Community, was sponsored by the S.B. Fire Department, 466 Works and Lincoln School. This coat give away focused on both the distribution of kids and adult coats to those living in the central sections of South Bend. Again over 400 coats were distributed at this event. In early January more coats will be distributed to Elkhart and Goshen school corporations for kids there in need.
Ziker Cleaners wishes to thank you for all of the community supporter for this on going project and a special thanks to those who took the time to donate a gently worn coat so a child or adult could be warmer this winter.
